Kathleen Whisman M.D. is a California native who has been a resident of Sonoma County for the past 25 years.
Dr. Whisman graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine in 1992, then attended Stanford Family Medicine Program at San Jose Medical Center. Graduating in 1995, Dr. Whisman started practicing in west Sonoma County right out of residency.
As a private practice physician, her focus was in comprehensive family medicine including obstetrics and women’s health.
Dr. Whisman has built long-lasting relationships with families over multiple generations in her 25 years of practice in west Sonoma County.
With deep roots in our community and a devotion to providing excellent care for patients of all ages, she is thrilled to bring these services back to Sebastopol.
Dr. Whisman understands and values her role in her patients’ lives. She prides herself in spending quality time with her patients, getting to know them in a way that allows for a more holistic approach to care and treatment. She offers her practice as a patient medical home where they feel safe, supported, and heard.
One of Dr. Whisman’s greatest qualities is her ability to connect with her patients. This connection considers the whole person in the context of their history and their current life.
When Dr. Whisman is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family including her three young adult children, hiking on the beach with her dogs, practicing yoga, and cooking for family and friends.

Elizabeth “Libby” Flower M.D. is a true product of Sonoma County. She traveled extensively as a child, living in exotic places such as the Dominican Republic and the Virgin Islands where her family finally settled.
She came to the Bay area in 1975 at the age of 17. A decade later as a young mother, she attended Santa Rosa Junior College graduating from the Xray technician program.
She worked her first x-ray job at Palm Drive Hospital in the early 90s as she attended Sonoma State University doing her pre-med coursework and earning a degree in physics.
In 1993, she was accepted at UC San Francisco, a single mother of a 6 year old and a 3 year old.
After graduation in 1997, the new Dr. Flower did an internship year in Internal Medicine at St Mary’s in San Francisco and then attended the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Program, graduating in 2001.
While in residency, Dr. Flower took moonlighting shifts in rural emergency rooms, and after residency she worked in a pain management clinic, learning the skill of pain management injections.
She worked in the Palm Drive emergency department for 4 years out of residency. She subsequently moved back to the Virgin Islands in 2007, practicing medicine there before returning to Sonoma County in 2016.
Dr. Flower has spent most of her career practicing emergency medicine, but also spent 6 years in hospice, several years as director of two urgent care clinics, and has much experience providing personalized primary care in small communities.
For Libby, medicine is more than a job, it’s a calling. The patient-physician relationship and community are the cornerstones of true medicine.
Dr. Flower lives in Freestone with her mother and several furry family members, herself a resident of west Sonoma County.
She is resolved to bring quality medical services, both urgent care and primary care, back to Sebastopol which was once a thriving medical community.
